Branding is the all out act of making sure your customers recognize your company by the colors, logo, font, or even style of writing. Just as the world's most famous brand Coca Cola® is recognized at a glance that is what you want your customers to see when they see your ads, letters or any communication coming from your company. Use the same color scheme on your web site that you also use on your letterhead, that you also use on your magazine advertising that you also use.... you get he idea. If a stack of papers are on your customer's desk from that stack you want them to instantly recognize that the literature is from you and it is important. "Guerrilla Marketing" author Jay Conrad Levison even suggest that a very inexpensive way to pursue your branding effort is to sign all your e-mails with a small advertisement and your logo or the very least the color scheme you use. Your customers will get used to seeing your constant communication (if you are a good marketer) with them and instantly recognize your brand. Adding value to a company is not as difficult as many people think. This is another very easy and simple way to add value to your company. If a potential purchaser recognizes your brand from ads or other communication it automatically adds values in their minds. A friend of mine in Idaho uses a cartoon of a snowmobile with blue and white snow capped mountains in all his advertisements. Many folks in Boise automatically recognize his colors before they see his business name and know that he rents snowmobiles. They associate his warm bright colors and logo with fun. Many small business owners have built their brand to the extent that they have licensed it to others for use. This licensing potential also enhances value to a potential business valuation. - Chris - |
